Inspired by the mysterious and poetic symbolism of the tarot, Marin Montagut's watercolor illustration COEUR SUR LA MAIN is presented here in the form of a Livre À Secrets.
Used in France since the 18th century, secret books make it possible to hide our little treasures. The pages of the books were cut out to hide jewelry, precious stones, love letters and other small intimate wonders.
Inspired by this tradition, the "Livres À Secrets" collection, made of papier-mâché, is entirely crafted, painted and numbered by hand in Marin Montagut's workshops in Paris. The interior is lined with marbled bookbinding paper hand-printed in France and contains a ribbon with a key-shaped metal charm at its end.
This model comes in two different sizes: the traditional size and a larger size to hold big secrets…
