Description
Created in 1612 at the request of Marie de Medici, the Luxembourg Gardens are a springtime rendezvous for lovers of Paris. Marin Montagut captures them through one of their most illustrious accessories: their iconic green chair, the “LUXEMBOURG CHAIR.” The watercolor illustration is presented here in the form of a Book of Secrets.
Used since the 18th century in France, secret books were used to hide our little treasures. The pages of the books were cut out to hide jewelry, precious stones, love letters, and other small, intimate treasures.
Inspired by this tradition, the “Livres À Secrets” collection, created in papier-mâché, is entirely handcrafted, painted, and numbered in Marin Montagut’s Paris workshops. The interior is lined with marbled bookbinding paper, hand-printed in France, and contains a ribbon with a metal trinket in the shape of a key at its end.
To hide your jewelry or other precious objects...or give a surprise gift to a loved one.
Please note that a manufacturing time of 1 to 2 days is required in addition to the 2 to 3 days of preparation for its shipment. Therefore, the time for its shipment can vary between 3 and 5 working days.
