Dessert plateCHAIR FROM THE JARDIN DU LUXEMBOURG

Dessert plate | CHAIR FROM THE JARDIN DU LUXEMBOURG

Description

The dessert plate is ideal for enjoying a sweet treat at the end of a meal or at tea time. It can also be used as a cheese plate.

Created in 1612 at the request of Marie de Médicis, the Jardin du Luxembourg is one of the spring meeting places for lovers of Paris. Marin Montagut captures it through one of its most illustrious accessories: its emblematic green chair, the LUXEMBOURG CHAIR. The watercolor illustration is presented here in the form of a small porcelain plate.

Marin Montagut designs each of his tableware models by drawing inspiration from antique French crockery. The exceptionally fine crockery is made of glazed porcelain. Each model is handcrafted, using the ancestral know-how of plaster molds.

The illustrations are applied in Marin Montagut's workshops in Paris and each piece is fired on site.
